SUPPORT RIGHT TO REPAIR AND OUR INDUSTRY

STEP ONE- CONTACT YOUR REPRESENATIVE ABOUT RIGHT TO REPAIR

Vehicle manufacturers are moving away from OBD-2 data ports and going wireless. This allows them to restrict data access to independent repair shops, thus requiring all new vehicles be serviced at the dealer.

Join the fight! Help us support right to repair by completing this form that sends a letter to your member of Congress today.  Right to repair legislation protects your access to vehicle data and scan tools.  This is critically important for the automotive, heavy duty, paint and body industries.

The American economy relies on transportation. And the supply chain relies on trucks. These vehicles are repaired and maintained by trucking companies and independent mechanics who often use aftermarket parts.

HDA Truck Pride is working closely with our industry’s trade association, the Auto Care Association, to get right to repair legislation passed in Congress because we know it is essential for the viability of our businesses! We appreciate your participation.

STEP TWO- SUPPORT ACPAC: AN INDUSTRY ESSENTIAL

The Auto Care Political Action Committee (ACPAC) is hard at work for you and our company’s interests. By joining your colleagues and supporting ACPAC you will continue our essential work and keep our doors open.

Much like our businesses, ACPAC is an industry essential that maintains a seat at the table for our advocates and lobbyists to continue the dialog on the importance of the aftermarket. This vital support from will help educate and inform key lawmakers who make the decisions on everything from vehicle data access to tariffs and trade policy.

The more we tell our story, the more we win.  To be at those tables where decisions are made, we need to continually raise ACPAC dollars for our advocates and lobbyists to attend events, host coffees and build relationships with their lawmakers. Recently, HDA executives have utilized funds from ACPAC to meet with key lawmakers like Rep. Cathy McMorris Rogers (R-WA) and Senator Gary Peters (D-MI),  to not only educate them on our issues but to also to build the relationships that will matter when legislation will affect our industry.

Members of Congress are continually polling, hosting townhalls, and are out meeting and greeting the members of their communities trying to find out what matters most to their electorate. By bringing the story and our concerns to them we show that we mean business and the support that we give to their campaigns shows that we value the support they give our industry.

I hope you will show your support of our industry and donate to ACPAC.  We have a goal of $20,000 to raise as a program group and we can get there with your help.  This is the time to be a leader in our industry- we need you to join us today.
